A woman has been left seriously injured following a devastating three-vehicle crash on the M20 near Aylesford, Kent. The incident occurred just before 6pm on Friday, August 9, close to junction five on the coastbound carriageway.
Emergency services, including Kent Police and the South East Coast Ambulance Service, rushed to the scene. The injured woman, believed to be in her 30s, was airlifted to a London hospital with severe injuries.
A 35-year-old man from Tonbridge was arrested in connection with the crash. He has since been released on bail, with a court return date set for November 10.
Kent Police have appealed for witnesses and anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage to come forward, stating that such information could be crucial in understanding the circumstances of the collision.
A Kent Police spokesperson said: “Emergency call handlers received reports just before 6 p.m. on Friday, 9 August 2024, of a three-vehicle collision close to junction five on the M20 coast-bound. A woman was flown to a London hospital with serious injuries, and a 35-year-old man from Tonbridge was arrested in connection with the incident. He has since been released on bail until November 10.”
