A car connected to an alleged alcohol theft at Crockenhill Premier in Broadway, Swanley, ended up crashing into another vehicle and a residential property on Goldsel Road on Monday afternoon, September 16, 2024.
Eyewitnesses reported that a male suspect stole a bottle of alcohol from the Premier store before fleeing the scene in a car. Witnesses also noted that the driver appeared to be clearly intoxicated while behind the wheel.
Approximately one hour later, the same vehicle was involved in a collision with another car and subsequently crashed into a home on Goldsel Road. Fortunately, the occupants of the vehicles were not inside at the time of the crash.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) arrived at the scene at 3:11 p.m. with two fire engines and a Technical Rescue Team to assess the structural safety of the building involved in the crash. Paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) treated those involved at the scene.
After securing the area, KFRS handed the incident over to Kent Police, who are currently investigating both the vehicle collision and the initial theft of alcohol.
