Kent Police have launched an investigation following a fatal lorry crash on the M20 near Ashford. The incident occurred at around 3.16pm on Thursday, 5 June 2025, when the vehicle left the coastbound carriageway at the Junction 9 slip road.
The driver, a man in his 60s, was pronounced dead at the scene despite the efforts of emergency crews from South East Coast Ambulance Service and Kent Fire and Rescue. His next of kin have been informed.
The Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) of Kent Police is currently working to determine the circumstances that led to the lorry veering off the road. They are urgently appealing for any witnesses or drivers with dashcam footage showing the lorry’s movements prior to the crash.
A police spokesperson said, “We are seeking any information or footage that could help us establish how this tragic incident occurred.”
