Emergency teams rushed to Herne Bay beach in Kent on Saturday after an 18-year-old was found washed ashore unconscious just after midday.
Kent Police officers arrived on scene quickly to assist the young person.
South East Coast Ambulance Service medics provided urgent treatment at the location.
Coastguard rescue helicopter Rescue 163 was scrambled to provide air support during the operation.
