Neighbours in Dartford were left horrified after a fire tore through a flat late on Sunday night. The inferno broke out just after 11pm on Mitchell Close, prompting a rapid emergency response.
Kent Fire and Rescue teams arrived quickly at the scene, working alongside paramedics from South East Coast Ambulance Service. One person received treatment at the scene, while two others were rushed to hospital following the blaze that completely gutted the first-floor flat.
Frightened locals spoke out about the incident. One neighbour, who wished to remain anonymous, said: “We were all shocked, you don’t expect to see something like that in the middle of the night where you live, it’s scary. Thank God nobody was seriously hurt.”
Another neighbour added: “There was a big commotion with flashing lights everywhere. All the curtains were twitching. They seemed to have it under control pretty quickly luckily.”
A spokesperson for Kent Fire and Rescue confirmed: “Crews from Dartford attended a fire in a first-floor flat. The cause of the blaze is still under investigation.”
