Friends and colleagues came together in Sittingbourne this afternoon to say a heartfelt goodbye to Rhod Prosser, a much-loved paramedic who tragically lost his battle with cancer at the age of 27.
Just before 3pm on Thursday, a black hearse decorated with Rhod’s crew number and a floral tribute shaped like an ambulance led a solemn procession into Bobbing, Kent. The hearse was followed by a rapid response ambulance, a HART paramedic vehicle, and another ambulance from the South East Coast Ambulance Service, marking a respectful farewell through the Garden of England.
Rhod’s family and friends remembered him as “one of the kindest, caring, intelligent and funny people you could ever meet.” His unexpected passing has left a profound void among those who knew him well.
The Sittingbourne paramedic had been planning to propose to his partner, fellow paramedic Hannah Webster, before his death on Sunday, April 12.
“He was amazing in every single way – kind, courageous and incredibly loving,” said Hannah. “We, along with many, salute you and thank you for your life-saving work.”
Rest in peace, Sir. Your bravery and kindness will never be forgotten.
