Kent Police have charged Kieron Nicholson with murder after a man was found dead in Maidstone. The incident occurred at a property on Cambridge Crescent on the evening of Monday 4 May 2020.

Emergency services were called to the scene at 9.13pm. South East Coast Ambulance Service attended, but a 29-year-old man was sadly pronounced dead at the location.

Just 25 minutes after the emergency call, at 9.38pm, Kieron Nicholson, aged 29 and from Vicarage Road, East Farleigh, was arrested in connection with the incident. The Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate has launched a full investigation into the case.

On Wednesday 6 May, the Crown Prosecution Service authorised a charge of murder against Nicholson. He remains in police custody and is due to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court.

In addition to Nicholson’s arrest, another 29-year-old man from Maidstone was initially detained on suspicion of murder but has since been released on bail. He is required to return to the police station on 2 June. A woman in her 20s from Tonbridge was also arrested but has been released pending further inquiries.

Kent Police continue to investigate and are urging anyone with information about the incident to come forward. Witnesses or anyone with relevant details should contact the police on 01622 604100 and quote reference 04-1448.
