Emergency services rushed to Heathfield, East Sussex, after a light aircraft slammed into a field on the morning of the incident.
At 11:05am, crews from Heathfield, Uckfield, Battle, and Wadhurst responded to reports of the crash on Herrings Lane. Firefighters used 1 in 7 foam to tackle the flames caused by the impact.
Alongside the firefighters, police officers, paramedics, and a specialist Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) from South East Coast Ambulance Service were also present at the scene.
The incident remains ongoing, with emergency teams continuing their response efforts.
South East Coast Ambulance Service provided an official update, stating: “Crews are currently on scene, alongside Fire and Police, to a light aircraft crash in Cross-in-Hand, near Heathfield. We were called at about 11am and sent a number of resources. We have no further update at this stage.”
