A lorry driver tragically died in a collision on the A2 near Dover, prompting an urgent appeal from police for witnesses. The crash occurred on the coastbound carriageway close to the Whitfield roundabout.
The incident involved three lorries travelling from Lydden Hill and took place at approximately 10.25am on Friday, 30 July 2021. Emergency services including Kent Police, South East Coast Ambulance Service, and Kent Fire and Rescue responded promptly to the scene.
The victim has been identified as a man in his 60s from Estonia. Sadly, he died at the scene, and his family have been informed of the fatality.
Kent Police are now appealing for anyone who witnessed the collision or has dashcam footage from either direction on the A2 at the time to come forward. Witnesses are asked to contact the Serious Collision Investigation Unit as soon as possible.
