A tragic collision occurred on the A224 London Road, Riverhead, near Sevenoaks, resulting in the death of a 67-year-old pedestrian.

On Friday 20 August 2021, shortly after 1pm, a white Ford Transit van travelling north collided with the pedestrian close to the Aisher Way roundabout. Emergency services, including Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service, responded quickly to the scene. Unfortunately, the man was pronounced dead at the location.

A 22-year-old man from Dartford was arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He has since been released under investigation while inquiries continue.

Kent Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit is appealing for witnesses who saw the crash or who have CCTV or dashcam footage to come forward. Anyone with information is urged to contact the police.
