Emergency services rushed to a serious collision on Canterbury Road, Folkestone, just before 6pm on Monday, 24 February 2025. Two cars were involved in the crash, prompting a major rescue operation.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service dispatched two fire engines to the scene. Firefighters used hydraulic tools, including the jaws of life, spreaders, rams, and cutting equipment, to pry open one of the vehicles. Stabilisation blocks, chocks, and braces were employed to secure the scene and safely free a trapped driver.
South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) and the Hazardous Area Response Team (HART) arrived quickly to provide medical assistance. Both individuals involved in the crash were handed over to paramedics for urgent assessment and care.
An update at 6.44pm confirmed that both victims are now receiving paramedic care. Authorities have launched an investigation into the cause of the collision. Further information will be released as the inquiry progresses.
