Drama unfolded on the River Thames in Gravesend on Friday afternoon, May 30, when two children fell into the water near Royal Pier Road. Emergency services launched a major rescue operation after the incident was reported at around 1.40pm.
Emergency crews, including Kent Police, the RNLI, HM Coastguard, Kent Fire and Rescue Service, and South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb), quickly arrived at the scene near Royal Terrace Pier to assist in the search and rescue efforts.
A spokesperson from SECAmb confirmed that crews attended the scene and treated a male patient before transporting him to a local hospital for further medical care. The condition of the boy remains unknown as he continues to receive treatment.
Meanwhile, the search continues for the missing nine-year-old girl, causing increasing concern among the Gravesend community as emergency teams work tirelessly to locate her.
