A tragic incident occurred at Dreamland amusement park in Margate on Saturday afternoon, June 28, when a young man in his 20s suffered a medical emergency. The event shocked the local community and prompted an emergency response.
Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) were called to the scene shortly after 5pm at the popular seaside park. A SECAmb spokesperson confirmed that the patient was taken to Queen Elizabeth The Queen Mother (QEQM) Hospital in a “very serious condition.”
“I can confirm that we attended Dreamland yesterday evening and a patient was taken to the QEQM in a very serious condition. We won’t be providing further details,” said the SECAmb representative.
Despite medical efforts, the young man later died in hospital. Kent Police have not yet released a full statement regarding the cause of the medical emergency or details of any ongoing investigations.
Dreamland, which had been busy hosting summer events at the time, has not issued any public comments about the situation. Visitors to the park reported a sudden police presence and that parts of the park were cordoned off following the incident.
The local community expressed shock and grief, with many heartfelt tributes posted online in memory of the young man.
Kent Police updated that the death is not believed to be suspicious and that enquiries are ongoing. A report for the coroner is being prepared as part of the investigation.
