Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushed to a flat fire in Military Road, Hythe. Two fire engines arrived quickly as crews donned breathing apparatus to tackle the flames.
The fire was believed to have started accidentally inside a microwave. Crews used a hose reel jet to douse the fire and then deployed a high-pressure fan to clear out the choking smoke from the property.
Emergency services provided first aid on-site to one person suffering from smoke inhalation. SECAmb paramedics also attended the scene to assist.
