Firefighters from Kent Fire and Rescue are currently battling a fierce house fire in Charing. The incident required the deployment of five fire engines and a height vehicle to Downs Way after flames broke out.
The fire reportedly started in an upstairs bedroom of the two-storey house and quickly spread to the roof, which has since collapsed. Fortunately, all residents have been accounted for and are safe.
A woman in her early 40s suffered from smoke inhalation and was treated at the scene by SECAmb paramedics. Fire crews continue to work under challenging conditions to extinguish the blaze.
The cause of the fire remains unknown, and investigations are ongoing. Kent Fire and Rescue have urged anyone with information about the incident to come forward.
