Staffordshire Police are investigating a tragic crash that resulted in the deaths of two teenagers near Penkridge late on Saturday, 25 May.

Police were alerted by West Midlands Ambulance just before midnight to a single-vehicle collision involving four people on Cannock Road. Officers responded promptly to the scene.

Despite urgent lifesaving efforts, the driver, an 18-year-old male, and his front-seat passenger, aged 17, were pronounced dead at the scene. Two 17-year-old female passengers sustained serious injuries and were taken to hospital for treatment.

Sergeant Richard Moors from the Collision Investigation Unit stated: “This is a tragic incident and our thoughts are with the families and loved ones of the young people who have tragically lost their lives and those who have suffered injuries.” He added that specialist officers are providing support to the families and requested respect for their privacy.

A full investigation is underway to establish the cause of the collision.
