A woman remains in critical condition after being struck by an articulated lorry on the M6 northbound between junctions 15 and 16, just before 7:50 PM on Friday, 28 February.
West Midlands Ambulance Service dispatched an ambulance, a Critical Care Car from the Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, and a paramedic officer to the scene.
“On arrival, crews found a pedestrian, a woman, in a critical condition. The ambulance team worked urgently to deliver advanced trauma care before rushing her on blue lights to Royal Stoke University Hospital,” a spokesperson said.
Staffordshire Police confirmed the crash involved a pedestrian and an articulated lorry. The pedestrian – the woman – was taken to hospital, while the lorry driver escaped injury.
“We were called at 7:50 PM on 28 February about a collision between a pedestrian and a lorry on the M6 northbound. The woman was hospitalised. The driver was unhurt,” a police spokesperson confirmed.
This shocking incident follows another serious collision on the same stretch of the M6 last week. On Thursday night at 9:55 PM, lorry driver Cliff Tamou tragically lost his life after being hit by a car on the southbound carriageway while outside his broken-down vehicle.
