A masked man who terrorised Staffordshire with a series of knife-point robberies has been found guilty. Patryk Slepowronski, 22, from Marston Montgomery, Derbyshire, pleaded guilty to six counts of robbery and one attempted robbery at Stafford Crown Court on Friday 7 March. He now awaits sentencing while in custody.
Between November 2024 and January 2025, Slepowronski went on a violent rampage targeting convenience stores across Staffordshire. His victims included Co-op, Tesco Express, Morrisons, and One Stop locations in Upper Tean, Uttoxeter, Hixon, Stafford, and Bentilee.
Armed with a knife, he threatened terrified staff members, forced employees to open safes, and emptied cash tills before fleeing the scenes. Police reported that his brutal raids left shop workers traumatised and local communities on edge.
A major breakthrough in the investigation came when DNA evidence linked Slepowronski to a robbery in Hixon on Christmas Eve. Staffordshire Police’s CID quickly arrested him shortly afterward. During a search of his home, officers seized safe keys and cash connected to multiple robberies, further confirming his involvement.
Investigators estimate that Slepowronski stole over £7,000 during his crime spree. Each incident caused panic and fear among shop staff and customers alike.
Staffordshire Police stated, “These violent offences caused immense fear and disruption. We’re proud of our CID team for their thorough work which led to this conviction. We hope it brings reassurance to the communities affected.”
Slepowronski will face sentencing at a future hearing. Police also praised the bravery of shop employees and members of the public who assisted with the investigation. This case highlights the effectiveness of DNA evidence, community cooperation, and determined police work in apprehending dangerous criminals.
