A man has tragically died after being hit by a car on Newcastle Lane, Penkhull, Stoke-on-Trent. The driver fled the scene, prompting an urgent police search for the individual responsible.
The fatal hit-and-run occurred at around 9pm on Friday, 11 April. A black car collided with the pedestrian before speeding away from the location.
Emergency services, including Staffordshire Police and West Midlands Ambulance Service, responded promptly. Despite their efforts, the man was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police found the victim seriously injured but he later succumbed to his injuries. The driver, believed to be operating a black vehicle, remains unidentified.
The area surrounding Newcastle Lane has been cordoned off as detectives review CCTV footage to determine the make, model, and direction of the car involved.
A police spokesperson said, “We are urging anyone who saw a black car in the area at the time, or who may have dashcam or CCTV footage, to contact us.”
