Police in the Moorlands are on high alert following two brazen burglaries targeting local properties within just 48 hours. Residents are being urged to ensure sheds and outbuildings are securely locked as thieves continue to target valuable bikes.
The first incident occurred around 8am on Thursday, 20 May, when officers responded to a report from a property on Cheadle Road, Alton. Overnight, burglars broke into a padlocked outbuilding and stole a Honda 4-track quad bike.
Just one day later, at 7am on Friday, 21 May, police were alerted to another theft at a home in Caverswall. A 525 orange motorbike and a black Giant mountain bike were stolen from a garage.
CCTV footage captured two men dressed in dark clothing riding an off-road bike near the Auctioneers Arms pub. The suspects were seen leaving the area and then returning with the stolen orange motorbike before heading off towards Weston Coyney.
