A body, believed to be that of a woman, was discovered early on 9 August in a layby on Bridgnorth Road, Perton. The discovery was made just after 2am, sparking a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.
Detective Chief Inspector Dan Ison of Staffordshire Police is leading the inquiry. He stated, “We’re working on a number of lines of enquiry, but it’s critical that we identify her as soon as possible and we’re appealing for the public’s help.” He also added, “We’re also keen to hear from anyone who was in the area of Bridgnorth Road and may have seen anything between 2am and 3am today.”
Bridgnorth Road remains closed in both directions from Tinacre Hill to Jenny Walkers Lane as forensic teams conduct their work at the scene. Diversions have been put in place while police carry out their investigations.
Anyone with information is urged to come forward and can do so via the Staffordshire Police Operation Page on their official website. Updates will be provided as the case develops.
