Staffordshire Police are investigating a tragic hit-and-run collision that claimed the life of a woman in her 80s on Yoxall Road (A515) in Kings Bromley, Staffordshire.

The fatal crash took place last night, 19 October 2023, between 7.30pm and 7.45pm BST at the junction with Church Lane. A white van struck the elderly pedestrian before fleeing the scene, heading towards Kings Bromley.

Emergency services, including the West Midlands Ambulance Service, arrived at the scene at approximately 7.45pm. Despite their efforts, the woman was pronounced dead shortly after the collision.

Police are urgently seeking witnesses to help identify the driver responsible. Officers are particularly interested in any dashcam, CCTV, or smart doorbell footage showing the van before or after the incident.

Specially-trained officers are providing support to the victim’s family during this difficult time.
