Wiltshire Police are investigating a fake gun scare that took place on Wood Lane, Chippenham, at around 9:20pm on July 18, 2024. Multiple neighbours called 999 after spotting a man carrying what appeared to be a firearm.
Officers arrived quickly at the scene and confirmed that the weapon was an imitation firearm. Despite this, the situation caused significant alarm in the area.
A man in his 20s was arrested on suspicion of possession of an imitation firearm. He has since been released on bail as police continue their enquiries.
Wiltshire Police are urging anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information to come forward. Witnesses are asked to contact police on 101, quoting reference number 54240084312.
