Wiltshire Police are appealing for witnesses following a burglary at the Co-Op store on Conway Road, Chippenham, in the early hours of August 22.
At approximately 2.04am, three men forced entry into the shop and smashed open the tills. They took three cash boxes before fleeing the scene prior to police arrival.
PC Josh Pullin, who is leading the investigation, stated: “This appears to be part of a national series of burglaries specifically targeting Co-Op stores.” The incident is believed to be connected to a wider crime spree affecting multiple locations.
Since the burglary, officers have been conducting door-to-door enquiries and reviewing local CCTV footage in an effort to identify and locate the suspects. Police have noted that some residents may not yet have been contacted.
PC Pullin urged the public to come forward with any relevant information, saying: “If you have any information or doorbell/CCTV footage that could assist our investigation, please get in touch.”

The investigation is ongoing, and police remain hopeful that community support will help bring those responsible for the overnight smash-and-grab to justice.
