Wiltshire Police are investigating a hit-and-run incident in Potterne after an 8-year-old boy was knocked off his bike on the morning of October 4.
The collision occurred at approximately 8:20am along Blackberry Lane when a car struck the boy’s bicycle, causing him to fall to the ground. The driver did not stop and fled the scene, leaving the child injured.
The boy sustained multiple injuries, including a head wound. Fortunately, medical professionals have confirmed that his injuries are not life-threatening. Ambulance crews attended the scene to provide treatment.
Police believe the vehicle involved was a navy or green Volkswagen Polo or Golf. Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the incident or has information about the driver to contact them on 101, quoting reference number 54240116975.
Wiltshire Police stated, “If you have any information, please come forward. Your help could be crucial.”
