Kurtis Knee, 23, from Swindon, has been sentenced to two years in prison after pleading guilty to serious drug offences at Swindon Crown Court on October 14.
Police raided Knee’s residence on Keswick Road, Park South, on July 31, uncovering nearly 10 kilograms of cannabis along with £5,689 in cash. Officers also seized expensive clothing and trainers during the operation.
The cannabis seized in the raid was estimated to have a street value of approximately £100,000 if sold in smaller quantities.
PC Thompson commented on the case, stating, “Cannabis is often seen as a low-level drug, but its supply comes with significant risks. Young people drawn into dealing face serious threats from rivals and violence.”
Inspector David Tippetts praised the police operation, saying, “This is a massive win against someone who kept dealing drugs despite past convictions. We’re committed to working with the community to stamp out illegal supply in Swindon.”
The case highlights the ongoing issue of organised crime gangs using ‘county lines’ to transport drugs from cities into smaller towns and rural areas. These gangs frequently exploit vulnerable individuals to move their illicit cargo.
