A 58-year-old man from Swindon has avoided jail time after breaching a Sexual Risk Order (SRO) on two occasions. Sean Morris, who lives on Massinger Walk, was sentenced to 40 weeks in prison, suspended for 18 months, following his violations of the court-imposed restrictions.
The breaches occurred on August 31 and September 12, when Morris entered the Broadgreen area between 5:30pm and 7am, a time frame explicitly prohibited by his SRO. The order is intended to limit the movements of individuals deemed a sexual risk to the public, even if they have not been formally convicted of a related crime.
Police have issued a warning to the public to remain alert. PC Katie Owers stated, “Morris poses a particular risk to vulnerable women and sex workers. This court order was granted based on detailed intelligence from these women and our partner agencies. If anyone spots suspicious behaviour, they must report it immediately so we can protect those at risk.”
