Wiltshire Police are investigating a serious two-car collision that occurred on the A365 Bath Road near Bowerhill Lane in Melksham yesterday afternoon, February 10.
The crash happened at approximately 2:10 p.m. and involved a red Vauxhall Astra and a red Nissan Micra. According to police reports, the Nissan Micra was stationary, waiting to turn right onto Bowerhill Lane, when it was struck by the Vauxhall Astra.
The driver of the Nissan Micra, a woman in her 40s, suffered life-changing injuries and was taken to hospital, where she remains under treatment. The driver of the Vauxhall Astra, a man in his 30s, was uninjured in the collision.
Following the crash, the A365 Bath Road was closed for several hours while collision investigators examined the scene. The road has since reopened to traffic.
Wiltshire Police have issued a plea for witnesses to come forward. They are particularly interested in anyone who saw the collision or who may have dashcam footage of the incident.
