Wiltshire Police are currently hunting five masked raiders who violently entered a man’s bedroom in Corsham between 12.30am and 1am today. The victim was assaulted during the incident before the offenders stole his car keys and other valuables.
The stolen black Mercedes was later found abandoned in Chippenham as the suspects fled the scene. Authorities believe the raid was not a random break-in but a planned attack.
Investigations reveal that some of the suspects arrived in a separate dark Nissan Qashqai. Police have launched a house-to-house enquiry and are reviewing CCTV footage in the area to identify those responsible.
Wiltshire Police are urging anyone with information or footage from around Northcroft Road at the time of the incident to come forward. Witnesses can contact the police on 101, quoting reference 54250047837, or report anonymously through Crimestoppers at 0800 555 111.
In response to the incident, extra police patrols have been deployed in Corsham to increase security and provide reassurance to local residents.
