Police were called to Affleck Road just after 12.15am on Friday, 11 December, following reports of a serious assault. A man in his 20s was found critically injured at the scene and sadly died shortly afterwards.
A teenager who was present at the address received minor injuries and was taken to hospital for treatment.
A local man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody as investigations continue.
District Commander Chief Inspector Jon Evans addressed the community, stating: “We are treating this as a targeted, isolated incident. Since this morning’s appeal, residents have come forward with CCTV and doorbell footage, as well as eyewitness accounts from late last night and early today.”
He urged the close-knit Greenstead community to assist the investigation: “Greenstead is a close community. The answers lie within – in CCTV, dashcam footage, or anything you may have heard or seen.”
