A massive crash on the M25 near Junction 27 (M11) sparked chaos during rush hour just before 4.40pm yesterday. Five cars and a van collided heading clockwise towards Junction 28 (Brook Street Roundabout, Brentwood), resulting in a six-vehicle pile-up.
Police believe a small Peugeot was involved in the collision but the driver fled the scene without stopping. Emergency services quickly responded to the incident.
An ambulance rushed to the scene, where a 22-year-old man was taken to hospital with a suspected spinal injury. Another man received treatment at the site.
The M25 was closed for several hours as police examined the wreckage, causing severe traffic disruption and long queues across the motorway network. Drivers faced significant delays during the closure.
Essex Police are now appealing for witnesses and anyone with dash cam footage of the crash to come forward. They said, “If you saw what happened or captured footage, please preserve it and contact us.”
