Police were called to a tragic crash on the A414 at High Ongar yesterday afternoon. The collision, involving a car and a motorcycle, occurred just before 2pm on Tuesday 26 October.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 50s, was found dead at the scene despite desperate efforts by ambulance crews. The A414 was closed between the Norton Heath petrol station and Kings Street while officers carried out their work. The road reopened at around 8pm.
Essex Police are seeking witnesses who saw the crash or were in the area at the time. Anyone with information is asked to call Essex Police on 101, quoting incident 613 of 26 October. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
Police are urging motorists with dash cam footage from the time and location of the crash to come forward, as this could be crucial to the ongoing investigation.
