Essex Police have arrested a 23-year-old man suspected of snatching babies’ dummies across Harlow in a bizarre spree that caused alarm from February through August.

The thefts occurred on four separate occasions between February 10 and August 7. The suspect targeted infants at various locations including Staple Tye Shopping Centre, Woodcroft, Parsloe Road, and Cooks Spinney.

Police responded swiftly after receiving reports of a man approaching parents and forcibly taking their babies’ pacifiers. Following the investigation, the suspect was taken into custody.

The man now faces charges of theft, robbery, and using threatening behaviour to cause alarm or distress.

Essex Police have called for witnesses, urging anyone with information about the suspect or the incidents to come forward and assist with the ongoing investigation.
