A murder investigation is underway following a fatal shooting in West Kensington. The incident occurred in the early hours of Sunday, 4 September, on Kensington High Street, W14.
Police were called to the scene at 2.02am after reports of gunfire. Officers conducted a search and found a man in his 20s suffering from gunshot wounds. Emergency first aid was administered at the scene before the arrival of the London Ambulance Service and London’s Air Ambulance.
The victim was transported to a central London hospital but sadly died at 5.32am. His next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from specially trained officers. A post-mortem examination will be arranged in due course.
The Metropolitan Police’s Specialist Crime Command homicide detectives have taken over the investigation. A 29-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
