Armed officers from Kent Police have surrounded a property in Kemsley Close, Gravesend, following a standoff involving a man armed with a loaded crossbow. The incident began late on Thursday evening when the man barricaded himself inside the residence.
Just after 10pm on Thursday, Kent Police called in armed officers, HART paramedics, a police helicopter, and dog units to the scene near Mulberry Road. The full force response was initiated to manage the potentially dangerous situation.
Neighbours reported that the man was holed up inside the property “armed with a weapon,” which is believed to be a loaded crossbow. Sources further indicate that he may have two other loaded weapons inside the premises, raising concerns about the severity of the threat.
In response, a large police cordon was established around the area. Counter Terrorism Specialist Firearms officers were also deployed to assist in managing the tense standoff, highlighting the seriousness with which authorities are treating the incident.
