A Sheerness man has been charged after a knife attack on Invicta Road resulted in injuries to a victim. The incident occurred on the evening of 26 June 2020.
At approximately 8:40pm on 26 June 2020, police and ambulance crews responded to reports of an assault in Sheerness. Upon arrival, officers found a man with a slash wound to his arm. The victim was immediately taken to a local hospital for treatment and was later discharged.
Within an hour of the incident, Shaun Packer, aged 55, of Victoria Street, Sheerness, was arrested by officers. He has been charged with assault causing actual bodily harm and possessing a knife or sharp object in a public place.
Packer appeared at Medway Magistrates’ Court on 29 June 2020. He was remanded in custody pending a Crown Court hearing scheduled for 27 July 2020 in Maidstone.
Kent Police continue to investigate the case.
