A major search operation is currently underway after a man in his 50s disappeared along with his golden retriever near Maidstone.
Kent Police, supported by a force helicopter and volunteers from Kent Lowland Search and Rescue, are actively involved in the search efforts.
The alarm was raised early on Saturday morning when the man failed to return home. He was last seen around 10pm on Friday near Maidstone Hospital, where he regularly walks his dog along footpaths close to a nearby quarry.
A Redhill-based national air support helicopter joined the search, scanning the grounds of Maidstone Hospital, as well as the areas of Barming and Mote Park. The helicopter crew used thermal imaging cameras to detect any heat signatures during the night.
Meanwhile, trained volunteers on mountain bikes have been searching wooded areas near the man’s last known location.
Local residents are urged to remain vigilant and report any sightings of the missing man or his golden retriever. Kent Police have been contacted for further information as the search continues to intensify.
