Kent Police are actively searching for witnesses following the rape of a teenage girl in Gravesend’s Woodlands Park. The incident took place between 6pm and 8pm on Wednesday, October 23, 2019, near the children’s play area within the park.

It is believed that two individuals may have come across the suspect during the assault, potentially interrupting the attack. Their information could be vital to the ongoing investigation.

The police were informed of the crime on June 12, 2020. A teenage boy was arrested on June 30, 2020, in connection with the case but has since been released as inquiries continue.

Detective PC Marissa Freeman appealed to the public, stating: “I appreciate a long time has passed since October 2019, but we urge anyone who was in the park that evening to think back. Two people may have unknowingly witnessed the assault, and their information could be crucial.”

Anyone with information is asked to contact Kent Police on 01474 366149 and quote reference 46/99108/20.
