A furious dad has criticised Kent Police after they allegedly ignored his urgent 999 call regarding a violent threat aimed at his daughter and her vehicle.

Peter Audley said he dialled 999 on Friday after being warned about a “madman” threatening to attack his daughter and damage her car. Instead of responding promptly, officers reportedly dismissed his concerns and reprimanded him for using the emergency number.

Mr Audley said, “Oh they do come out then. I rang them Friday for what I considered something urgent. They did nothing except to tell me off for ringing 999. I got a text today to say they tried to ring me though there is no missed call on my phone and the officer they were going to send is on holiday!”

We have contacted Kent Police for a statement and are currently awaiting their response.
