A 58-year-old rapist from Folkestone has been sentenced to 10 years in prison after repeatedly abusing a victim over several months. Lloyd Thomas now faces justice following a series of horrific offences.
Lloyd Thomas, who resides on Risborough Lane, was convicted on five counts: two rapes, three sexual assaults, and harassment. The attacks took place over a brutal three-month period before the victim bravely came forward in November 2024.
Kent Police launched a specialist investigation immediately after the abuse was reported. Thomas was arrested just three days later. Despite denying all charges, a jury at Canterbury Crown Court found him guilty.
On Thursday 20 November 2025, Thomas was sentenced to 10 years behind bars, followed by four years on licence. The sentence aims to bring some closure to the victim.
Detective Constable Gemma Chadwick said: “Thomas is a dangerous sexual predator who subjected his victim to a campaign of dreadful abuse. I am pleased that the victim found the courage to come forward, so that we could investigate Thomas’ crimes and ensure that he was made to face the consequences of his actions. I hope the sentence that has been imposed will help to bring her a sense of closure.”
