Kent Police responded to a distress call at a home in Styles Close, Four Elms, near Edenbridge, at around 8 a.m. on Sunday, May 5, 2024. The call reported a violent assault, leading to an immediate response from the South East Coast Ambulance Service.
Despite emergency efforts, a 51-year-old woman died at the scene. Police confirmed that she succumbed to her injuries shortly after their arrival.
Following a detailed investigation by the Kent and Essex Serious Crime Directorate, 33-year-old Huseyin Kalyoncu was arrested. Authorities disclosed that Kalyoncu knew the victim.
On May 6, Kalyoncu was charged with murder. He appeared at Sevenoaks Magistrates’ Court on May 7, where he was remanded in custody.
Kalyoncu’s next court hearing is scheduled for May 9 at Maidstone Crown Court.
The tragic assault has deeply affected the close-knit Four Elms community, with residents expressing heartfelt sympathy for the victim’s family.
