Kent Police arrested 79-year-old Isaac Hammond in connection with a disturbing series of child sex attacks in Folkestone.
The police were called shortly after 1.30pm on Sunday 2 June 2024 after reports that a man had touched a young girl’s leg and made lewd comments near the Road of Remembrance.
Officers arrived alongside paramedics to find a man in his 20s suffering from stab wounds and fighting for his life. Meanwhile, a suspect was quickly identified and arrested later that same day.
Isaac Hammond, who lives on Marine Terrace in Folkestone, has been charged with sexual touching related to the incident on 2 June. In addition, he faces two further counts connected to similar offences on a Folkestone bus on Saturday 1 June.
Hammond is also charged with sexually assaulting a girl near Harbour Street on Thursday 21 March.
He appeared before Margate Magistrates’ Court on Monday 3 June, where he was remanded in custody. Hammond is scheduled to appear at Canterbury Crown Court on Monday 1 July.
