A fierce fire broke out early morning at a bungalow on Mayfield Road, Herne Bay. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident. Fire crews have successfully extinguished the flames and concluded their operations.
The “warn and inform” notice that urged locals to avoid the area has now been lifted. Mayfield Road is fully open again in both directions. Authorities expressed their gratitude to residents and drivers for their patience and cooperation during the emergency.
Kent Fire and Rescue Service (KFRS) initially deployed six fire engines to the scene. As the fire was brought under control, the number of engines was reduced to four. Firefighters used breathing apparatus, high-pressure hose reels, and main jets to battle the blaze effectively.
Kent Police and South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb) were also present to provide assistance during the incident.
The cause of the fire remains unknown at this time. Police have confirmed that the fire is not gang-related but have established a crime scene and launched an investigation. Residents were advised to avoid the area during the emergency due to road closures and the presence of emergency vehicles.
