James Golding was sentenced to 19 years in prison after being found guilty of horrific rape attacks on two women. The 43-year-old man from Queens Road, Broadstairs, was convicted following a thorough investigation by Kent Police.
The case began when a woman reported that Golding had brutally assaulted and raped her at his home earlier in March 2022. Despite her desperate attempts to escape, Golding dragged her back and locked the door. Over the course of the evening, he subjected her to violence and multiple sexual assaults. He also forced her to consume drinks laced with ecstasy.
Golding was charged on 4 April 2022 with false imprisonment, administering a substance with intent, assaults, rape, sexual assault, and voyeurism. During his arrest, police seized his phones, a hard drive, and a laptop. Investigators discovered disturbing footage on these devices showing Golding raping another woman, which led to two additional rape charges.
At Canterbury Crown Court on 24 June 2024, Golding was sentenced to 19 years in prison, with an additional four years on licence after his release. Detective Constable Robert Potter commented: “Our priority is to ensure victims are heard and supported. The detailed investigation uncovered further crimes, ensuring the full scale of Golding’s dangerous behaviour against women was exposed and factored into sentencing.”
