A man on a bicycle has caused safety concerns in the Chatham area following two disturbing encounters reported in June 2024. On Saturday 1 June, a young boy walking to and from a shop on Palmerston Avenue was followed by the man, leaving the boy feeling unsettled. The boy informed his parents immediately after returning home, who then contacted Kent Police.
The police received a second report on Thursday 13 June after a woman and her child were approached by an unknown man near the junction of Symons Avenue and Redvers Road. The incident left them shaken. The suspect fled on foot towards White Road and Glencoe Road before officers arrived at the scene.
The man is described as a slim, black male, approximately 5ft 11in tall, and clean-shaven. He was seen wearing a green and blue football shirt. During one of the incidents, he wore black jogging bottoms and black slider-style shoes.
Kent Police are urgently seeking to speak with this individual as part of their ongoing investigation.
