Shock and sadness struck Kent on Thursday 4 July 2024 after a white Ford Transit van collided with a pedestrian at midday.
At around 12:05pm, the van was exiting the Beach Street car park onto Harbour Street in Folkestone when it struck a woman in her 70s. She suffered serious injuries and was rushed to hospital, but tragically later died.
The Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) has launched a probe into the crash. They are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward immediately.

Police are also asking anyone with dashcam or CCTV footage from the area around the time of the collision to submit it to Kent Police and Essex Police via the Evidence Request page.
