Police have released a CCTV image of a man they want to question following a theft attempt on Barden Road, Tonbridge, on Monday, 8 July 2024.
The suspect was first seen fiddling with the door handle of a blue Ford Fiesta at around 12.15pm.
Moments later, the man returned and forced his way into the car’s boot. A passerby became suspicious and confronted him. The suspect then allegedly threatened the witness with what appeared to be a wrench before fleeing the scene.
Officers have since been conducting house-to-house inquiries and reviewing CCTV footage in the area. They are keen to speak with the man pictured in the released image as he may assist with their ongoing investigation.
