Police were searching through thick undergrowth at Strood railway station last night after a weapon connected to a serious assault was reported thrown trackside. The incident prompted a rapid response from officers in the area.

British Transport Police collaborated with Network Rail workers and Kent Police, conducting a detailed search until the weapon was found buried in dense bushes near the tracks. This joint operation underscores the severity of the assault and the urgency of recovering the weapon.

British Transport Police shared on X: “Last night our officers were called to #Strood to assist @kent_police with recovery of a weapon used in a serious assault. The weapon was thrown trackside and a search team from @kent_police found the item in thick undergrowth. We assisted with access along with @NetworkRailSE.”

Police have not yet disclosed the type of weapon involved, nor have they confirmed any arrests. The investigation into the assault remains ongoing.
