A woman in her 50s was found dead at a house on Tonbridge Road, East Peckham, prompting a significant police and forensic presence on Wednesday, July 17.
Officers and forensic teams arrived at the scene near the Man of Kent pub after paramedics raised the alarm at 10:40am. The woman was pronounced dead at the property.
Kent Police have confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious. A report is being prepared for the coroner to establish the cause of death, and authorities are working to notify the next of kin.
Local residents expressed shock at the police activity. One East Peckham resident, who wished to remain anonymous, said, “It was quite a shock to see so many police and forensic officers here. It’s usually a very quiet area.”

A police statement said: “We were called by South East Coast Ambulance Service to a property in Tonbridge Road, East Peckham, at 10.40am on Wednesday, July 17.
