A collision between a van and a lorry on the A282 near Dartford sparked a major emergency response and caused serious traffic chaos on Wednesday afternoon.

The crash happened at around 4:05 PM on 24 July 2024, instantly drawing local police, fire crews, and an air ambulance to the scene.

Kent Police arrived quickly and found a woman injured in the crash. She was swiftly taken to a London hospital for treatment, with officials describing her injuries as thankfully non-life-threatening.

The incident drew a heavy emergency services presence, including multiple fire engines, police officers, and a life-saving air ambulance. Dramatic images posted on social media revealed the scale of the response as crews worked to manage the crash site.

A Kent Police spokesperson said, “Kent Police was called at around 4.05pm on Wednesday 24 July 2024 following a collision involving a van and a lorry on the A282 in Dartford. Officers attended and one woman has been taken to a London hospital for treatment. There is currently heavy congestion in the area and motorists are advised to find alternative routes if possible.”
